NATIONAL GALLERY and FREE SIGHTSEING

After some few days of classes I found that my school (The English Studio - after I can talk about it) could help me to do lots of things here. One of those was the free sightseing that I did in my fourth day here.

The meeting point was in Trafalgar Square. This place is the largest square in London and has been a central meeting place since the Middle Ages.

To start the journey I met my friend Gabriela in Charing Cross Station (so beautiful). Just a few steps and we were in Trafalgar Square. The most interesting atraction besides the square is National Gallery. The National Gallery houses the national collection of Western European painting from de 13th to the 19th centuries. There we could saw lots of beautiful paintings of renowned artists such as Van Gogh, Rembrandt and Diego Velázquez. There is a seasonal exibition by Leonardo Da Vinci but the tickets were all sold. There it is not possible take pictures but we saw lots of beautiful paintings and we love the store inside the Gallery. We hope return there to buy somethings like paintings and other things we love most. My aunt Ivana never let me forget to buy those paintings... and probably I will return to do this. Some pics:

National Gallery

After this adorable tour we went to meet the people who would do the sightseeing with us. The best thing about this tour was all the explanations that the tourist guide gave to us. We had learned lots of different things about the places we had ever gone in my first day in London. I will post the pictures and tell about each place:

Horse Guards Parade:

Bye, bye.

NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM

This was the place we decided to know in mine third day in London. National History Museum. So BEAUTIFIL!

Lindo demais!

In London there was lots of museums for free. This is one of those. Honestly the facade is much more beautiful and charming than the exposition, but we cant enjoy all the shows so I think it is a place that we can go again. Inside we could saw some real dinosaurs bones, we saw the mammals including the blue whale (very big) and something about the human body (not interesting). Now I almost discover that we only know a small part of the museum and for sure we have to return. We only met one floor so we need go there again =) But it was a very nice ride! some pics:

HAMMERSMITH (Gabriela`s Neighborhood) and The English Brunch

Hi! It`s been over 10 day days I am here in London and today when I was returning home in the underground I finally fell like in home. Good! I got home and cook my lunch and now I decide that I need to share all the things I am living here in this. I hope I can write everyday, but I am not sure. In this post I will talk about HAMMERSMITH (Gabriela`s neighborhood). The first time I was there was in my second day in London and for a few time when we traveled to Amsterdam.

Começando o passeio...
O bairro é muito charmoso.
Até o Rio Tamisa cruza o bairro.
Local onde comemos nosso brunch inglês.
Bread, poached eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, sausage an bacon...

It is a very good place to live, go shopping and just go for a walk. There are lots of stores there, like Primark (the cheapest store to buy clothes in London) - one day I will do a post only talking about this. Well the day I pass in Hammersmith was so nice. I met with Gabriela and her friends in the Station and we went to the place we had the English brunch. It isnt a delicious food, its fat and I decided I dont need to eat this food again. Gabriela`s friends that lives in London said to us that the most complete brunch comes with beans... ok... After the brunch we just go for a walk and we saw lots of beautiful houses, the river thames and we also tried go to the famous neighborhood Camden Town. It was impossible, because we tried by bus... and it is not a good idea ride in a bus in London.... This day I had lot of pain in my body because of the walk we had the day before... and my blisters were stil bothering me... !

In conclusion - VERY GOOD PLACE TO GO! I recommend =)

Londres - uma super experiencia...

Nothing Hill é um lugar apaixonante!

I am here because I need start writing about my first big experience in another country. (I have already travel to Buenos Aires with my friends last year, but it was a little experience, only a trip for 4 days). Ok, let me explain to whom is reading my blog. To practice my English I decided to write only in English for the time I'm here, so it will be better for me. I'll at least try. I'll make a lot of mistakes, but dont matter, i'm here to learn.

I am in London since the last Fryday (18/11). I am studyng English since yesterday at English Studio. The decision to come here was a little crazy, but was one way to join my desire to know Europe and the necessity of improving my English. Since I arrived here I have already a lot of difficulties. Ok, the first one was in the flight, i cant sleep and it was a little hard, but i know a girl from Brazil and we talk a lot, so the problem was alleviated. We have a connection in Madrid - BIG BIG BIG AIRPORT and only almost 20 hours after left Curitiba i arrive London. And... I dont know yet what happened, but someone forget to catch me at the airport. I wait for like one hour so I took a taxi. The agent that help me to come London to study said to me that the school will return me the quantity, but i am still waiting for this.

Aeroporto de Madrid

After I took the taxi I finally got home. The taxi driver was a little crazy but he helps me a lot. Taxi here is too expensive, but I had no other alternative, my bag was large and heavy and I still didnt know how to use the underground. My first impression of my residence was terrible but after some minutes the situation has improved. I am at Donald Hunter House and my bedroom is single, comfortable, hot and big. I share a kitchen with 5 girls but I am only used to see one of them that is from Portugal and is becoming my friend now.

My bedroom for a month!

FIRST DAY - Ok, my real first day in London was absolutely GREAT! I found my friend Gabriela in Notting Hill neighbordhood. Very beautiful, cool and lovely place. She waits for me on the underground exit and it was and adventure for me. But I had the help of a brazilian girl from Rio de Janeiro that lives in the same residence of mine. To enjoy the day I bought a daily travel card for like 7 pounds and I could walk by bus, train, underground during all the day. We began our tour without knowing where to go but we find what is best there.

Portobello Road

Tudo é lindo!

A feirinha em Nothing Hill é demais!

The Portobello Road Market in Notting Hill, is one of the oldest and most traditional markets of London, and one can not miss Saturday for a day.Antiques, food and clothes are the major attractions of the fair. But the artists street not far behind. Are numerous and a real attraction.

After enjoy it we decided that we need to eat. Ok, we are students and we need save money. So we we choose to eat in SUBWAY where we can buy a sandwich and a drink for 3 £. Our first stop should be all other tourist attractions in London, mainly Buckingham palace, London Eye, Big Ben and other things. So we took a bus from Notting Hill to somewhere near Hyde Park. And there we start one of the biggest walk of our lives. Hyde Park is too beautiful. We walk a lot across it we then we went to Buckingham palace, Big Ben, London Eye and finally we find Victoria Coach Station where we bought a ticket to know Amsterda. It was a really nice and tiring day. I finish it with a really good coffee and blisters on fingers.

Hyde Park

Muito felizes!

A cada atração uma emoção!

London Eye!

Perfect day!
